Large brush fire near Bear Creek Lake Park area.

'Unless a law-abiding individual has a firearm for his or her own defense, the police typically arrive after it is too late. With rigor mortis setting in, they mark and bag the evidence, interview bystanders, and draw a chalk outline on the ground' - Judge Benitez , 2019, Duncan v. Becerra.

Light a fire for a man, and he'll be warm for a day, light a man on fire, and he'll be warm for the rest of his life...

My buddy sent this from his house in Solara, looking south towards Bear Lake Park.

There's one thing I don't miss about Colorado.

    Hope everyone stays fine.

Colorado is still in extreme drought. Last week a forest fire started from a camp fire that was doused with snow, then melted through to ignite surrounding vegetation. Four miles from us. Two miles west of
the Cal-wood fire that burned last October.

Fortunately we've had a foot of snow in the past few days. I've been busy clearing snow. But we are lucky. Conditions are dry from Nederland south to I-70 and west all the way to Eisenhower. And dry from Avon to Grand Junction. We need a lot more snow.

No doubt. We need a TON of snow in the next few months or it's gonna be another tense summer.

Local news channels screwed the pooch on this one. Zero relevant updates. Started at 2:15 and nothing but evacuate until 6:00.

I live 1/4 mile from Homestead golf course and it was done by 5:00.

CO State Patrol was knocking on doors for the evacuation. Later driving through the neighborhood with sirens on. Ummm, there is no more threat...

Thanks to the firefighters and responding personnel. Y'all fucking rock!!

What's the work on the Cherry Creek fire?

Kinda wanted to respond to the CO State Patrol officer, at my front door, "this isn't my first rodeo" but thought better of it. Been through a few fires in the last 20 years.
