    Default Unemployment Fraud

    Was just notified via mail I was overpaid for unemployment last year......thing is I was not unemployed last year! (Knock on wood)
    They seemed to have just used my first and middle name but had my address correct!
    Our office manager recently asked us not file unemployment claims during the pandemic because of course we were not eligible. Now she stated just today that she had gotten notified she was filing and the info was close but not complete.

    Has anyone had anything similar happen?
    Read some articles that this is widespread in CO recently.

    I think they use debit cards now a days.

    I have been getting emails about an open claim needing more info. I reported it but never heard anything.

    When I got home from being out of town over new years weekend, there was a letter from CO dept of labor unemployment insurance division with a personal unique pin # and an envelope from usbank with a debit card enclosed (reliacard is what they call it). All in my full name and mailed to my house.

    Cancelled that and filed reports that monday. Work said they had seen a rash of false filings.

    My wife got tagged with this scam too, their HR department said a number of employee identities had been used for unemployment scams.

    Charter School. Small school and they really looked out for us.
