Sight config for Custom M17s

I picked up this M17 Bushy a couple weeks ago and have been abusing it with my drill press. Found a few final items at the Tanner show this past weekend.

I got a good deal on the UTG folding sights. They will not zero out. I have a feeling that the front folding sight is set for gas block height. I am looking for options on setting the front and back sight on the same deck height and on the same rail. I do not want to have to sell my left testicle for the purchase. Will the Magpul MBUS sights work with this geometry? If so, does anyone carry them locally. Im going blasting on Fri.

Originally I wanted to mount and HK G36 or SL8 rail to it. But went this route. Quite happy with the feel and cheek weld. But can not get the elevation on the front sight down far enough.
