Wonder if there will be a lot of ice dam issues this week. Depends on if it gets to freezing every night or not.

I'm actually a little worried about that. I've got cornices hanging off my roof in more than one spot. I've been trying to knock down what I can reach.

I don't remember when, but there was that monster snow storm with killer winds....it seemed like the town was closed up tight; no driving allowed and there was a call out for folks who owned real Hummers to drive doctors to the hospital. Depending on location and size of the drifts; some folks at work were snowed in for a good week or two. Those folks were living out in the 'sticks' and had a drive way that ran more than a few acres before hitting a dirt road.

I think I was snowed in Fri night and it was late Tue before I could get out.

This storm for me was a slush storm; nasty but short lived.

Mar 2019 there was a nasty one east. Elbert county was begging for snowmobilers to help rescue people. Some idjit trying to get back to KS got stranded east of Elbert with his kids. I think they actually ran out of gas.

    2003 was the "big one."

I seem to recall a few other windblown blizzards between 2003 and 2019 where friends in Elizabeth got socked in for days, much worse than we did.

Well. That was interesting. About 18? drifted in front of my driveway. My neighbors had 12. So I tried to get the truck out and forgot to get it into 4 hi. Well it was fun learning the following: How to recover a car, my burb without lockers is prone to getting stuck, 12? snow is the most that my truck likes to roll over. Also need to figure out better recovery ramps and it?s time to get new duratracs or ko2s.

Tires make a world of difference. My company truck is a Ford and probably has a better 4WD system than my personal truck (Dodge) but even with everything locked in the Ford struggled this morning with its unassuming tires where the Dodge with its all-terrains had no problem plowing through knee deep snow.

I took my kia sportage with nokian wrg4's and had no issues driving on the side streets all the main roads were cleared. We probly got around 20in here in wellington, it's hard to tell we had 40mph winds. 4ft snow drifts aginst my garage were awesome to shovel.
