    >>New charges include possession of unlawful magazines in the commission of a crime.

I saw this on KOAA (who has become very anti-gun in the last couple of years*) and it took me by surprise... I never heard of such a law, does anyone have a pointer to the CRS, or is this some local Boulder law?

    * I was actually shocked (I guess I shouldn't have bene) when their "360 look" at firearms and self-defense (a year or so ago) never bothered to interview anyone who had actually used a firearm in self defense.

So much for complete, 360 coverage.
YOU are the first responder. Police, fire and medical are SECOND responders.
When seconds count, the police are mere minutes away...
Gun registration is gun confiscation in slow motion.

    Here's the magazine related statutes:
    https://codes.findlaw.com/co/title-1...18-12-302.html

I'm guessing this is what the DA is using:
"(c) Any person who violates this subsection (1) commits a class 6 felony if the person possessed a large-capacity magazine during the commission of a felony or any crime of violence, as defined in section 18-1.3-406 ."

Written two years ago but worth a read is this excellent article/opinion piece about the media culpability in promoting school and other mass shootings, and the evolution in the way the media covers such events.

Opinion: How the media ? including me ? unwittingly helped create a Columbine narrative that has inspired murderers ever since

But the mythology around killers no longer needs press coverage to spread
