    Default Bushmaster ID

I have been offered this Bushmaster carbine and I am having a hard time verifying the model. Disregarding the rail and grip, is this a model that the original Windham Bushmaster would have offered? The muzzle device throws me, supposed to be a 14.5 barrel with pinned device.

    Thanks for your consideration.

Unless there's a bayo lug, hidden under that hg assy, that's a post 94 BM. Also referred to as the ES shorty AK, iirc. The pre bans had a f/hider attached.

Definitely a ban era rifle. No flash hider, no bayonet lug, and the fixed rear stock made it safe. I had one of those barrels probably in the mid to late 1990?s.

I just wanted to know if it was a basically original carbine. I guess that you have confirmed that.

I don't think bushy ever offered those handguards in the 1994-2004 timeframe in which that model rifle was produced, so while the barreled upper may be original, the handguards have been swapped out.

Yes they have. The rail and grip are not original, I just needed to know if the rest of the carbine was.

    Ban era XM15E2S
The 14.5" barrel had welded AK style muzzle brake to meet 16" requirement. The 16" had a pinned AK style brake
I had one of those with the 16" pinned barrel. H-bar 1/9
New they sold for about $650 back then. Mine was a 1996 vinatge. Mine was 100% reliable when used with quality mags.

That model was the first ar I bought on my 18th birthday. After the 10 day wating period I left the gun shop with it 10 usgi mags and a 1000rd case, went to the range with my buddys and burned through that 1000rd in half an hour. Good times still have the lower.
