My girlfriend and her family are Asian and work in a nail salon. She had heard about the attacks last week and was worried, but until I told her hadn't heard about it being more sex-related than racially targeted.

Not just that, but they also face some angry customer that they were either rushed, or nails not done properly. The owner and employee have to deal with mad (and potential violent) customers every week.
However, they are very lucrative part time (and also full time) gig. Standard starter gets paid $100/day+tip. 2 year experience normally gets $150+ and Tips alone going well over $120+ per day.
Yes, I am a state license holder, but never worked a day in that area.

It is a long story how I obtain the state license and how I was about to get into the business.

There are some angry ass customer who believe they've been rushed by technicians (employees rushing to complete the nail/pedi) to accept next incoming customers. It is normal during busy hours or weekends.

It's 2021. Random attacks are lumped together as hate crimes whenever possible to advance the agenda. Never mind facts like simple crime in neighborhoods populated predominantly by a particular demographic, it's hate because of course it is. Old lady is attacked by a thug because thugs think old ladies are easy targets. If said lady is a minority, it must be a race-based crime. If she's white, then it's anti-woman. If she has bits that dangle, it's transphobic.
