We haven't been able to camp in 'The Park" on Monument for something like 19 years now unless you walk in (I think you can still walk in) because of the d-bags that f'd it up for everyone else. 2002 was the last time were were up there, camping trip with all the boys to send one off to Iraq (he came back, twice). Idiots shooting up trees, moving barriers to tear up hills that were off limits due to wheeling and erosion, etc. Same with general shooting up there. Morons shooting when/where others are hiking and biking in the area. All they had to do was go up or off the road a bit and find a proper backstop. Now the whole damn thing is closed to shooting except one area off Rampart few venture into.

Can't blame the USFS, county, or state for that.
