With trigger pin, trigger, and mag release not installed on the gun. I think Desantis did a horrible job of properly representing the product.

It's no accident that my favorite CC pistol (Walther PPS Classic) is in a holster that covers the trigger, and the pistol has a striker that protrudes from the back of the cover when the trigger is pulled back. I put my thumb over the back of the slide so that I will get a tactile indicator if the trigger is being pulled back by part of my clothing as the pistol is being holstered.

Sorry to hear about your friend's unfortunate educational opportunity. Hope he rapidly makes a full recovery.
