Like others have said that is a horribly designed holster. Hope your friend heals up without issues. I'm sure he learned a painfull and expensive lesson.

Do they have a warning on that holster to not carry certain guns or carry without a round in the chamber? Very poor design. Hope your friend heals quickly.

The picture shows, you are only supposed to carry a gun without a trigger.

Hope your friend heals up quickly.

I have the well known “box of holsters”, every one of them covers the trigger. I never even thought of getting a holster that didn’t.

I hope that your friend recovers fully and pays more attention.

Thank you all very much for the "well wishes". I check in with him every couple of days and as of yesterday he said he's "sore, but recovering". He definitely feels embarrassed and being a fellow "gun guy", his pride is pretty bruised. Once the dust settles a bit more, I'll have a heart-to-heart with him and give him crap for knowing a guy who makes custom kydex holsters and then ended up shooting himself with one of my competitors crappy holsters.

I have a few OWB revolver belt holsters in the Bill Jordan style with exposed trigger, but they are intended for guns with a full-weight, full-stroke DA trigger and have a retention strap that blocks hammer movement. They also work for SA revolvers.

    That’s nuts.
