    Default Rise In Asian Violence

    Didn't want to derail the other thread any further. No trying to fan any flames, just curious about this rise and narrative.

    I listen to a lot of podcasts. Some political, most not. The political end would be center to center right. I do throw in some scholarly liberal (not progressive) PCs too.

    From what I am hearing is most of the violence toward Asians is from young black males. The Georgia massage parlor being the exception but was that racially motivated?

    I get this is a volatile issue but the "narrative" seems inconsistent.

    Thoughts?

    As I wrote in the other thread, I'm curious too. I'm not seeing it but I don't follow the "news". I do listen to a ton of podcasts as well and I can't think of a time it was discussed.

    I had noticed last year that a lot of Asians were purchasing firearms last year. Most were new to firearms and we're looking for self defense. Many were there as a family or a female with child. Their fear/concern was very real to them. Many owned small businesses and felt there was a lot of anger directed at them and their businesses. Heard no indication of actual physical violence, but it was clear that they were fearful for themselves, their families and in some cases their businesses.

    Yeah, what's with Asians committing such violence?

    Nidal Hassan in Ft. Hood;
    Seung-Hui Cho in Virginia Tech;
    Mohammed Saeed Alshamrani at the Pensacola Naval Air Station;
    Omar Mateen in Orlando/Pulse Nightclub;
    Jiverly Antares Wong in Binghampton, NY;

    Check out gunfreezone.net

    He follows a lot of violence against Asians and Jews.

    The major contributor is an authority on history repeating itself since his family emigrated to the US from Venezuela when he was younger.

    Why don't you post the "white guy list" now too?

    Stupid people want a scapegoat. Scapegoat for all their problems and for all their fears. I think we need to buy a lot more mirrors and a lot less internet BS. If we cannot recognize our problems, we will never solve them. And yes, we do have a lot of problems in our country.

    Labeling these events as "anti-Asian" is just the Democrats once again not letting any good crisis go to waste. They're hooking it into the anti-Trump/anti-traditionalist diatribes. I'm a freaking Asian-American and Trump was spot-on calling out the government of the PRC for hiding the outbreak of the Wuhan coronavirus. That was NOT anti-Chinese. Calling this pandemic the Wuhan coronovirus is no more anti-Chinese than labeling the epidemic of 1918 "Spanish flu", the earlier respiratory syndromes SARS and MERS, or what came to be called ALS as "Legionnaires disease".

    I don't know the details in either situation but my guess is that the shooting in Atlanta would have ended sooner if more people were carrying defensively.

    EDIT: Caught up on the KS thread and realized that the police responded FAST.

    I noticed that too when I picked up a pistol at Cabela's last March. While waiting for the background check I met a couple Vietnamese ladies and we spent a few hours talking as they chose their second handguns. They already had an AR and AK rifles. Their concerns seemed to be about protecting their shop and workers from robbery and assault.

    Admittedly, I live a life somewhat disconnected from multiracial urban areas and I'm not up on the latest greatest nuances of racial theory and dogma but I don't see anti-Asian discrimination as widespread. I think it's promotion is politically based identity politics meant to divide and harm our free society.

    You guys are confusing me.

    Is this about violence against my Asian friends or committed by them?
