Haven't been to Germany in more than a year.
The passenger complains too much over 120 in the pickup.

For as many prudent speed limit guys profess to be here, I have a hard time believing they don't drive with traffic like every Bob, Tom and Steve. But as in most cases on the internet, people are suddenly holier than swiss cheese if they think they can compare to "bad" behavior and profess to not speeding at all. Riiiiiiiiight. When everyone else is speeding, it doesn't count, right?

FTR, where speed limits apply equally to all vehicles it is a lot like schools teaching a class based on the dumbest person in the entire building; instead it is the heaviest and fattest thing on the road driven in less-optimal conditions by a less-optimal driver. It is a government rule, no different than bans on magazines or slide fires. The existence of a government rule does not make violation of it a biblical sin, all laws are independent of morality. Speeding can be unsafe. I am not advocating for it. But there are certainly a lot of holy people here that never partake in it and when it boils down, it's not a magic science number, it is in many places, arbitrarily applied.

If someone dutifully follows every regulation simply because they exist.... yikes.
I for one, have ignored the "left turn on arrow only" sign on the stoplight by my house so many times, I have technically ran a red light about 3,000 times. I lived there before anyone had the bright idea they needed a sign to "save lives". You can see all oncoming traffic for 500 yards in a nice gentle curve and it is not high traffic. 45MPH highway. I'm not going to waste 10,000 minutes of my life sitting on my thumb because an entirely unnecessary rule told me to. I'm not any safer for it, nor is anyone else, and I didn't become any safer when they put the sign up. YMMV.

Just drive safe whatever you all do, and respect residential and neighborhoods.

I like to stick close to the speed limits. If the speed limit is ridiculously low for a particular road I still stick to it and piss off all of the people bottled up behind me. It?s my way of getting them to petition the city or county to raise the speed limit on that stretch of road.

My morning commutes entertain me. I make sure to leave myself time to get where I?m going and if something unexpected causes me to be late it doesn?t bother me. When I see people in a stupid hurry to get to their jobs I figure they are probably just a shitty, irresponsible employee and are scared they might get fired because they can?t get to work on time.

Pretty sure the automated speed traps need to be manned by a person in Colorado. I see them as a white van along Speer Blvd in Denver and along Moorhead Ave and North Broadway in Boulder all the time. There will be a person sitting in the van monitoring the equipment.

What you are seeing is just one of those tow behind warning systems that flashes the light to let you know that you are speeding but that's all it does.

They must be getting a lot of complaints along that stretch of road. Eventually one day if the speeding continues you will come across a real cop parked in an inconspicuous place and you will get pulled over.
