I got a parking ticket in Boulder before the meter expired. The fat, ugly meter maid was writing the ticket with 3 minutes left on the meter. I got to car and asked her what she was doing. as the meter had not expired. She said she issued a ticket "to be ready" for when it expired and that I needed to wait there until expired so she could issue the ticket. I drove off and never heard from them.

At DIA, I had a flight that came in late at night on the last day of the month. I was out of town that month (at that point I was travelling 80% of the time) and hadnt got plates renewed.

I got a ticket for the next day at like 12:15am for expired plates. Ironic thing is I had a receipt from DIA parking toll booth showing I exited a little after 10pm. Denver dismissed the ticket but tried to make argument that they are allowed to preemptively issue tickets. When I pushed that the cop lied on the date so they knew "preemptive" was not allowed, they dismissed it. They had a hard time disputing their toll booth time stamp and my credit card time. Not that they didnt try.
