I'm not so much of an early riser, but one of the first things I do when I get up out of bed is to look out a window in our master bedroom to see how the weather is. I love the mornings where I can see the sunrise. Having the sun come up behind the Cascades makes for an amazing and often colorful sight. Our sunroom faces east and we probably don't make enough use of it to watch the sunrise (probably doesn't help that my wife isn't a 'morning person').
My old commute allowed me to watch the sunrise coming up behind Mount Rainier. Sometimes with the mountain casting a shadow onto the clouds above. An amazing work of art courtesy of our creator.
Every day that I wake up and can see the grass from the green side, it's a good day. Some are better than others.
Mentioning Covid-19 quarantine, I was really grateful to have a backyard where we could get out of the house and get some fresh air, a little sun, and play fetch with the dog, etc. I felt really bad for those apartment dwellers and others living in high-density situations that couldn't do the same.
Thanks for the perspective reminder and the update on your health situation. Prayers are outbound to all of those in this thread dealing with health challenges.
