    My key points:

Hypocrisy- What is gun control the only thing that should be amended to allow for increased local regulations? If a community so desires, they should be able to restrict other activities such as abortion services or drug possession.

Justification- The Colorado CCW program has been a national model of success for 18 years. What is justification for eviscerating it by allowing byzantine local restrictions? What is the evidence showing a massive violent crime wave committed by the 500K+ Colorado issued permit holders?

Impact- This allowed Balkanization could negatively impact the civil rights and legally held property of roughly 2 million responsible citizens in Colorado, supposedly justified by the actions of a few criminals.

Governors front desk phone number if you would like to leave a simple message asking to veto this bill. Just simply say that you are against SB21-256 and request that the gov veto this bill, no need to say any more or less than that.

    (303) 866-2471

    You can also go here:

    https://www.colorado.gov/governor/share-comments

Select "I want to share my comments", select "Governor", Select Legislation, enter the bill number, select "Disapprove", enter a statement that you disapprove of this bill, don't waste time writing a diatribe, they really just tally the agree/disagree numbers, hit send.

I can?t see him veto it, but he can just pocket it, right? That?s the only chance.

They also passed some anti plastics bill with the same kind of pre-emption language. So Colorado is becoming Balkanized a number of different ways.

How long does he have to sign it? My guess he does it tonight or when it won’t make as much news. The other stuff makes headlines, this isn’t that popular and you have to explain it.

Friday is always the best time to sign unpopular legislation. He can not sign it, which will also make it law. Showing his "support" for gun rights.

As long as they conform to democrat mantra.

Thanks to all for your input. I have written to the Guv and asked that he veto the bill.

Are we getting pretty close to the 10 days? I thought we had the pocket veto here in Colorado. Which would’ve been an elegant way for him to get out of it. But if he doesn’t sign in and still becomes law that’s like being a little bit pregnant. It’s actually worse from a leadership standpoint. You don’t agree with the law but you’ll still let it go into effect. Knowing that it’s not a very good law.
