old Denver gunsmith?

There's a 1911 posted on the 1911addicts forum built by "R.I. Martel" of Denver. It's in the style of 1911s that was popular in the 70s; S&W revolver sights, what looks like Armand Swenson ambi-thumb safeties, and a host of other touches. If anyone knows anything about Mr. Martel I'd greatly appreciate the info. Thanks

I moved here in '84, at that time it was only Ikey and George at Sports West but I wondered about that as well. Speaking of Ikey about 6-8 months ago there was one of his 1911 builds on consignment at Green Mountain. I almost grabbed it but passed on it.
