Moose cow, drew a third PP. In 2018, I took my once-in-a-lifetime Colorado bull moose six miles from our house. Ate moose steak today.

Mule Deer buck, drew a tag in GMU 21 with 8 PP. This is managed as a quality deer unit in Garfield and Rio Blanco counties along the Utah border. A nice surprise. I never hunted the unit and don't know it well but conducted bird count transects and vegetation surveys there over several years. Lots of deer there so should be an adventure. (They ought to be selling wild horse licenses here too.)

Elk cow and bull, unknown yet but expect to get both tags in the Flat Tops OTC unit that I have hunted for 36 years.

Pronghorn buck or doe, unknown yet but expect to draw this year in NW CO.

Bear, will pick up a concurrent season tag for one of the deer-elk seasons, not decided which unit yet.

Getting juiced up over hunting this year!

Very cool. I am expecting points in everything but Pronghorn, I should be able to draw my area this year.

I've seen moose 2 of the last 4 years while elk hunting in CO. With the new draw fees and estimated draw wait, I'm seriously considering just stopping attempting to draw one here and instead purchasing a guided hunt in an area with good odds to get one. I'm tired of paying to enter the lottery, my knees hurt, and I'd like to just go on a hunt.

Very cool though. The little ones taste better anyway.

The new preference point fees seriously suck. They are a terrible burden on hunters, essentially doubling to tripling the cost of moose, sheep, and goat licenses by the time they might be drawn. But CPW is just following the lead of other states on this scheme. Expect outfitter costs to rise proportionately. I'm seeing unguided deer hunts in NW CO asking $18.5K just to get on the property. I think the public land state licenses will continue to be the most affordable opportunity.

They really do. I don?t bother with sheep and goat because of them. I decided paying $50/year for the moose would be the better route.

Even the better Turkey tags take 5+ points so it can cost $35 in points just to get the tag.

Sheesh. You applying to shoot one on the governor's lawn while wearing a Trump hat or something? How'd you get 21 elk points? lol.
