Nobody ever says "at least he died doing what he loved" if someone goes out from auto-erotic asphyxiation either.

But if you have a heart attack while fishing and die from a lack of EMS, everyone acts like having a fishing pole nearby made your heart attack nicer.

Well I missed the mark on that one.

Irving, we’ve never really been a sympathetic bunch around here when it was something avoidable… now when someone dies at no fault of their own, we can certainly be.

I’ve witnessed some very generous acts of condolences and honor among the members here, but if they’re like me this man was not someone we’d ever heard of. It’s sad for him and his family, without a shadow of a doubt, but it just doesn’t hit home like others in recent memory.

That said, we are a pretty jaded bunch when it comes down to it.

I never even threw in any mention of a Darwin Award Candidate, or the familiar remark 'play stupid games, win stupid prizes'.

I recognized the irony of the situation. I never said I was "glad he's dead".

I just hadn't gotten around to it.

These old school sort of daredevils that just jump staright aren't that entertaining anymore. Cool bro you can ride fast and straight. Apparently in this case not fast enough. Or maybe his ramp building crew screwed the pooch. Either way, awful price to pay for something that's not that impressive even if successful.

The things people do on dirt bikes everyday are FAR more impressive than what this guy was attempting. The things the riders do in Nitro Circus for example are incredible and beyond what anyone could have dreamed of not long ago. Those guys have truly advanced the sport.

My post was simply observatory and factual in nature.
