Empty gas stations?

Had a customer say their fleet trucks were reporting empty stations today.

Didn't think much of it until my drive home when I ran into a few completely sold out gas stations myself, including the diesel. I didn't even see that in-person during the initial covid freakout.

In fact, I've NEVER run into a sold out gas station in my life. I know it happens, but it's a first for me. Wouldn't have even had a second thought if someone hadn't told me they'd had problems too. Kinda weird.

Any word what's up?

I worked a gas station / repair shop back then. it was one of the few times sitting on a car, with a tire iron, didn't attract a lot of cops.

Not sure we need a gas crisis, just after the covid crisis.

I filled up yesterday. Other than the price paid, I had no issues. My normal gas station.
