Default I want to get printed TShirts for "Colfax Two-Way Gun Range"

What in the hell is going on along Colfax on the east side of Denver? Is it just Nextdoor and Ring that is reporting what has always happened and I just see it, or are there a LOT more shootings on Colfax this year? I know crime is up, but it seems that's the hot spot around me. I was out in the backyard around midnight, before people started the fireworks stuff and I heard three different volleys. Didn't DPD put in microphones to track shootings?

Makes me want to get T-shits made up to commemorate it, but it seems like every other night there is another shooting.

Any thoughts for a logo or 'motto'?

City cannot fire officers fast enough. I know young kids who’s dream growing up was always to be in law enforcement. They don’t even want to be in that line of work anymore. Regardless of pay, I sent openings for englewood PD w/ starting pay at $79k, 87k after completing field training and $96k after 1 year and even at that rate they don’t want to apply.

I have an idea, let’s federalize the police. What could go wrong?
I’m sure the people will be demanding the Gov. do something.

I love the hypocrisy of the left who say that the "sovereign citizen" who says "your laws don't apply to me" to wrong and illegal, yet they embrace the anarchist who says "your laws don't apply to me".

Even where the "Defund The Police" movement didn't get traction, the overall effect nationwide down to every municipality has limited the ability of law enforcement to effectively perform their jobs - with every move they make under the greatest scrutiny. While an officer has seconds, or even fractions of seconds, to determine the best course of action in any event, their actions are recorded and picked apart for days/weeks/months until someone says "ah-ha, see how he/she abused their authority?". Law Enforcement can't stop someone they've witnessed commit a crime if that suspect is a person of color for fear of being accused of "targeting" that person.

Yes, oversight of our public officials, including law enforcement needs to occur. Public officials at all levels need to be held accountable for their actions and there must be repercussions for those wantonly violating their positions of trust. But at the same time, the ROE (Rules of Engagement) for our law enforcement community need to be black and white without this huge gray area that they can't help but enter into which results in their demonization. Society can't tie the hands of our officers then blame them for the increase in crime without first accepting the blame themselves.

TeamRico nailed it. It's all part of the ultimate agenda. Demonize local LE, defund them and watch crime skyrocket. Then create an uproar that we need more law enforcement - BUT WE CAN'T TRUST THE LOCALS TO PROVIDE IT, so we need to create a Federal Law Enforcement Agency that has local jurisdiction. [sarcasm] Absolutely nothing bad could happen from that. [/sarcasm]

It's the old conundrum- is the world going to shit or is there more coverage of a shitty world?

How long have you lived near east Colfax? That has always been considered the bad part of town.

Is it any worse than it was when I was a kid in the 80's? We were warned not to up there, yet did and saw gang fights and heard gunshots.

I'm close enough that Colfax is 'local' to me on ND and Ring. The interesting thing about the crime on the east side is how 'territorial' it is. It seems that a block of two makes a HUGE difference in crime- especially property crime. I've had cameras up for about 5 years at least now. Only had one late night, door-knob 'jiggler' come through and try to get into our garage.

Personally, I think we need a trap house where the unlocked garage door leads to a cage. That, or I want to order a hive of bees, put it in a SOny box and leave it on the front porch...

Not Colfax, but the same kind of idea. I have no reason to doubt that she wasn’t actually involved, but catching fourth “stray bullet has to be some kind of record. Maybe she was inadvertently targeted, but most bad guys being shot at don’t get hit four times. Plus I hate the use of the word “stray”, Like it is some kind of dog or something. Plus a “pack” of four stray bullets sounds just weird.
