    For now....

Two steps forward, one step back....

It will be mandated by state employers, then those who contract with the state. About the same time, the idea will be picked up by more progressively oriented city governments....

So, like the places collecting plastic bags fees early (outside of Denver limits and CO bag fee not in effect yet)....

Can I start charging employees like $1000 a month for a park space now?

Sure... "I will pay you $150K for an entry level position.... but... the parking fee is $12000 a month so you ride you bicycle... we have a new (repurposed because we dont want to increase our carbon footprint) bicycle rack over there...or course that is $12100 per month"

Unrelated, but anyone worried about the bag fee should just start saving all their bags now.

Was in Home Depot in Lakewood.
Check-out screen asked how many bags I wanted to buy.
Asked the clerk if we were in Denver.
    No, was the answer.
I want to buy 0 bags, but would like to bag my multiple items.
I guess the alternative is to buy an Orange Bucket each time.

I have a feeling that we'll be seeing a lot more shopping carts all over the place in the future. I generally look at people with disdain when they take off with shopping carts or just leave them in the middle of the parking lot. However, I'm quickly changing my mind.

Another alternative is to tell the clerk to watch your stuff and take the purchases out to the car one item at a time.
Got to be pretty aggressive with that approach and big enough to get away with it.
