Figured we had a picture thread for just about everything else...why not one for cool, red-blooded, American stuff. Anything American is fair game.
I took a little day trip to check out an antique store in Albany, TX a few weeks ago. Came across the courthouse and the old jail building. The courthouse was built in 1883. I think the jail was built prior to that. The jail is used by the sheriff's department staff these days, cuz, you know...it's not up to standards for housing prisoners, I guess. It's a federal thang.
So, here we go. I thought this was very typical of small-town America and the Ten Commandments on the courthouse grounds was a nice touch, too.
