Voice recorder app for android?
Do any of you use a safe, private voice recorder app that you like?
I was looking at the Samsung S Voice app for my Galaxy 7, but the disclosures indicates that it collects the recordings, and it requires access to my contacts, photos, messages, etc. I don't like that at all.
I want to be able to quickly and hopefully discretely engage the recorder without a lot of steps, and it needs to pick up voice from several feet away. Is there such an animal?

Many mobile OS include various firewalls for lack of a better term to try to avoid surveillance apps. Something like a Sony IC recorder would be more useful and higher quality if it is not too inconvenient to carry. Years ago tape-a-talk was an app for that on android, but I haven't used it in so long I can't make a suggestion as of today, and the pickup is limited by fabric+mobile microphones which were never intended for it. Still a phone can do area conversations if you aren't moving.
There are some call recorders that are automatic, their functionality is dependent on the manufacturer and OS due to the firewalls I've mentioned. I am not 100% sure automatic call recorders are possible on a Galaxy 7 but it probably is. I'll have to come back and repost when the names come back to me.

An awesome recorder would be a tascam with the dual tracks (one +10) and a inconspicuous wired mic, if you can anticipate when you need it. They are considered high in professional videography for interviews.

Thanks for the input FoxtArt! I spent some time looking into the Integrated Circuit recorders, then remembered I have an old (circa 2004) Olympus recorder, but it's a simple unit with no means of downloading and it doesn't have much pickup range/volume. (My cousin bought it to record the strange voices he was hearing but they were all in his head).
The modern recorders are much more capable of course, and an inexpensive option. Still, I'd rather have something on the phone which I carry all the time but without all the intrusive gotchas. I often use my voice recognition text message app to record notes to myself but it's microphone is limited to close distance. Soon, I will testify in a criminal trial of someone I caught bating and killing wildlife over bait. I think he's stupid enough to approach and threaten me. I want the ability to discretely record any conversation.

Easy Recorder Pro is what I use for case work. I'm not sure there's a recorder that will work from several feet away that is also an app; if distance is vital then you may want to look at other types of equipment.
