I'm interested. It sounds like fun. Kind of like sporting clays, but for rifles.
I don't know if it would be leagal in a national forest. How big of an area is needed? Do you have any information about where this type of shoot is held elsewhere? I was thinking about the desert out in Nevada for example.
If there are other guys shooting this event in another state, maybe we can muster some volunteers for a "fact finding mission".. AKA, escape the wife for a weekend.![]()

It's been done. 2006, Gillette, WY was the last one I know of.
They shot it for several years in Raton. It has not been shot for the last 8-10 years that I know of.
The ITRC and the Steel Safari are as close as you will get anymore. Both those matches are pretty much hit or miss, one point per target.
