when emptying a large property in france in 2004, which was last occupied in 1968, and not emptied since 1893... i first came across a trunk full of german uniforms. Then, when unfolding one of the pants, 2 Stielhandgranate started rolling in the floor... one, did not have its hanle cap, and the pull string was visible... they didn't blow, so i kept on, carefully check the trunk. nothing else of interest was in this one.

i called the gendarmes, who sent a mine squad. the grenades were live, and the one without the cap was probably tied to a nail jn the trunk: a crude booby trap. the uniform were donated to a local museum.

While I don’t have nearly what you have, I have found ammo in the closet I forgot was there. I was going through my dresser seeing what I could sell (vintage motorcycle shirts) and found two boxes of .357 Black Talons that a LE friend gave me over 20 years ago, along with loose 45 ACP and 22LR. Organizing the garage stash I consolidated about 1000 rounds of various ammo for guns I don’t have anymore. I guess I need to get some more guns!
I also discovered that I have a need for additional ammo cans, both 30 and 50 caliber to store it. Cardboard boxes are just not cutting it anymore!
I have more I am sure in a tool box buried under stuff in the back of the garage.

I recently found two coffee cans of cast bullets on a shelf in the garage I stuck there when I moved. Thought that was cool, as I was getting low on Colt bullets and had been thinking about when I’d get a casting session in.

I have enough .303 Brit ammo to last several lifetimes. Not sure what I was thinking when I bought it, it must have been cheap. Original cordite military cartridges.

While cleaning/re-organizing the garage, I have found stashes of reloading components, ammo, parts, etc that I have forgotten having.

Despite the fact that I agree with the statement that you can never have too much X/Y/Z (for firearms), I am finding there is a limit for me.

Just a box of 50. IIRC, S&B 230 gr ball ammo.

What did the Frenchman ask, when the Germans rolled in to Paris?

I know exactly what I have.

Now, if only I could remember where I put it all.
