    Default Gun Buy Back - Longmont Sept. 25.

    Hopefully some deals are too be had. Going to make it out and hopefully find something cool and prevent it from being destroyed.

    Um...ok...and they are doing Colorado legal transfers on all those firearms...right?

    It says in the article: “It is someone freely bringing their weapon to this event,” Verasco said. “It will be disabled in the presence of the owner, who will then be giving us gun parts.” That would therefore not be a violation of any laws. I gave a few pistols I had for case evidence to the JeffCO Sheriffs office after disabling them in accordance with the rules from the BATF.

    Sorry...but if it has a serial number it is not just gun parts. The serialized part has to be legally transferred via a background check. Otherwise you and I could buy stripped AR lowers without a background check.

    Nope. If it is destroyed in accordance with the ATF rules, then it is NOT a gun anymore, serial number or not. An AR lower would have to be cut apart before it could be bought without the BGC.
