    Default Jeep falling off mountain

Jump to about 3 minutes then wait for the exciting part...

Story claims the driver put the jeep into park and got out, with his GF and 2 dogs still in the jeep, to help another vehicle on the trail, and the jeep started rolling...

GF and dogs were ejected from the jeep. GF is in serious but stable condition, and dogs were ok.

That's been going around. A few months ago a YouTuber was here doing the trail in the afternoon and it started raining and basketball sized rocks were raining down the mountain. Then there was a big land slide and everyone got trapped on the trail for 3 hours until the road crew could show up with a front end loader.

This is when people find out that their "comprehensive" auto policy doesn't cover "off road use".

These are forrest service and county roads and covered by insurance. Off road use is prohibited in many areas across the state.

There's also a video making the rounds of the crew doing maintenance this spring in a bull dozer. Watching that thing slide sideways on is metal tracks at the steps made me shiver.

The driver initially posted on FB looking for the two dogs that got ejected. They found the first dog that day, but took them a couple days to find the other one. I heard that the driver stopped the Jeep, set the parking brake and jumped out to help a fellow jeeper negotiate a switchback.

I have a JK, and the handbrakes have ALWAYS been complete crap on mine. Even after new brakes, it just doesn't hold. If I need my Jeep to not move, it'll be hand brake and left in first with engine dead.

This video is pretty much my worst nightmare.

I bet he put it in park, and set the brake, just like every ND on a firearm magically happened when the round teleported in from a 4th dimension because they know they unloaded it and set the safety.

    Prayers for the GF.
