Default Environmental disaster in East Palestine Ohio

Is anyone watching how the train wreck and release one-million pounds Vinyl Chloride from the cargo? Poly Vinyl is an extremely dangerous chemical.

It's flowed into the Ohio river and a decision was reached to burn some of the remaining toxins. The media is not reporting on this much and it is probably the largest environmental disaster any of us have ever seen. This may be on the scale of the Chernobyl disaster and the media has very minor coverage.

I read that the burning also put off toxic chemicals and they just told the locals to stay inside.

    I've seen some pictures

While not a fun chemical. It's not going to contaminate the land for hundreds of years

I've been watching it since day one. VERY hard to find details initially.

Some bonehead decided the best way to clean up the wreck would be to burn it. You know, to prevent an explosion that may have shrapnel. Seriously. They evacuated a mile radius just in case. The burning released poison gases similar to some WWI chemical weapons. Whoever that bonehead was must have failed his chemistry class.

Animals and fish are dropping dead within a 10 mile radius or more. Farm animals, fish, family pets etc are being reported dead. Not good...

Don't worry. The Secretary of Transportation is on it! Err... maybe not...

Transportation Secretary Pete Buttigieg focused on racial disparities in construction during a Monday conference, claiming that construction sites are not employing local workers in minority communities and outsourcing to White people.

Maybe the Director of the EPA is on it? Nope.

You can imagine the media coverage if this happened during an R administration.

I'm not a follower of Twitter and ran across this. I don't know how to copy the video without sending everyone to Twitter but click the link and look at the video of the toxic plume from this fire. People in Canada are complaining of the smell and getting headaches from this smoke.

Just received this alert, not many details in the news yet, but there are train tracks that run right through there?..

Should also be noted, it doesn?t get any closer to Davis Monthan AFB without actually being on base.

Base and the stretch of the 10 (obviously in dark red) that is closed. Still no word on local news if it?s train or semi related, but the tracks run right next to the 10 through that stretch.
