Another huge (haha) problem Americans have is we eat the largest meal at the wrong time. Eat a big breakfast, medium lunch and small dinner. Eating a large meal at night and then sitting around or going to bed will not burn off the calories. Eating a lot early gives you fuel for the day.
I usually walk around the property, or just be on my foot, for at least 1/2 hr, after dinner.
