Default I Like Van Gogh And I Can Not Lie!

The "better half" and I did the immersive "Beyond Van Gogh" exhibit today.

Start at 3:30 and stop at 8:30.

I've seen three Van Gogh exhibits and this one is my second favorite. It's all AV on the walls and floor. Interesting music. Lots of cgi effects and parts of his paintings. I'd go again if it wasn't full of annoying twads.

The first and fav exhibit was the Van Gogh art collection in DC. Paid $20 for free tickets but didn't have to wait in line for three more hours. All original paintings. They looked like vibrant topo maps.

The second was at the Denver Museum and it was sketches and pencil drawings. Interesting but not overwhelming.

Van Gogh is my #1 and Dahli is a close second. I grew up with Remington and Russell, so any other artist is hard to beat.

I wouldn't recognize Van Gogh fron Van Neighbor's Kindergartener's painting. I believe I am a simpleton because I just do not understand the outrageous price paid for paintings and sculptures.

...or even looking at said paintings and sculptures.

We went to the one down here in Phoenix and were both disappointed. It was entertaining and very cool way to display the work but it wasn’t worth the $$.

For me I went in knowing almost nothing about him and was hoping to learn more about the man and his life and how it tied into the paintings. This exhibit did nothing to educate me on Van Gough.

I didn't get Van Gogh until I saw them in person. I was pretty mesmerized.

AV displays are the new way to display or immerse us in older art. I like it as long as the original is available nearby for study. The MTV generation seemingly needs to see and hear things.
