Different strokes for different folks. Glad you enjoy it. To me, Van Gogh's works are great for kitchen or bathroom tile but for hanging a print or painting on my wall, I prefer the artwork of Paul & Chris Calle, Remington, Titian, Alex Ross, Jay Anacleto, Alan Bean, Robert McCall, etc. My mother likes Monet, who I could never get into -- great use of light but horrible detail work.

I really wanted to go see that, but it would have cost me $250 to bring the family. Ouch.

Aloha Shooter's taste reminds me of the works that were done to glorify government and religion conquests and battles. When the population didn't know how to read and the free press wasn't available. Works of art were done to illustrate events, individuals and concepts. Impressionism broke away from that theme.

A friend of mine was discussing Matisse with a lady friend and I chimed in that I really liked Matisse. Then I asked. “That’s by Rickman, right?”.
My friend took a moment to catch on. The lady had no idea what I was talking about but her husband was doing his best not to laugh and another guy at the table blew beer out his nose.

As little as I know of Art, Van Gogh is one I like very much. Thanks for posting.

Matisse story is priceless. I had a 79 Triumph with a bent frame and should have bought one.
