I live right by Rocky Mountain Regional Airport where it hit over 100mph. Our wood fencing faces a direction that is not get hit head on by the winds. Our main stretch of fence is chain link. Everyone else has wood on that part of their yard. Everyone except me is replacing fencing. Lol

Insurance says I have a $3600 deductible on my roof. I figure a $200 bill to repair. Unless the wind rips it more. Puberty Mutual Ins. Co.

Materials aren't as cheap as they used to be. Cost me $500 or so to replace my ridge vent a few years ago.
    How old is the roof?

Anyone see any damaged wind generators?

I would hope they all got locked down before the storm.

Default I'll hire a guy to fix it.

16 year old roof. I have the shingles already to replace the missing ones. I should have known by the flubbed commercials the Co. was crap. I'll get a new one when the policy expires. You get what you pay for, and sometimes you don't even get that.

I'm just glad the whole area did not go up in flames. Smart move is to only buy a house with a metal roof.

So, one 4x4 post split at the ground level....so two sections are down. I did not notice the problem until today - so off to Lowes I went.
Ok, the price on the 4x4 posts are well past Colorado High - gabbed about the less snake one they had, a few 2x4 just because.

Now poking at it looks like someone used a bag or two cement setting that post in. Going to be a royal pain.

No cedar pickets....this is looking less fun here. I might try finding a large eye screw "bolt" - and see if I can pry out the cement + old post. and drop in the new one.

Small fire and some diesel soaking the post remnant. Charcoal briquets on top. Hope this works brad.

Tomorrow is firewood cutting day, along with more log splitting. Turns out we have nine trees down either broken off or uprooted from yesterday's winds. The drought hasn't been kind to the spruce and fir trees here. That coupled with having to remove about 600 trees to build two new septic systems. When you take out trees it increases wind pressure on the remaining ones nearby. We're gradually losing the spruce-fir forest around our cabins to drought related disease, wind toppling, and fire mitigation thinning. Aspens are replacing them but I have to regularly spray them with deer repellent to keep the moose from killing them.

So glad I got new roofs installed on two mountain homes in September. Even with our normal high winds in winter I've never had roof damage from wind or hail. I've always done my own roofing, maybe 15 roofs over the years. This time I hired it done and they did a superb job with some deck repair, architectural shingles, new gutter systems and gutter guards. I had another contractor rebuild and metal clad my fascia, add an extended entry overhand and tongue and groove knotty pine soffits. New door and windows, too. All together both houses look great, a big improvement and another check off of the big bucket list. Let the wind blow....
