Default PWS MK111 worth the money?

Are the PWS Mk111 worth the money? What makes theses uppers so special?

Long stroke Gas piston system, perfected by PWS over the last decade. Works great and run smooth.

My cuz has a 16" version and loves it, great shooting suppressed. I think they are nice, not too expensive. The take down to get the BCG out is kind of janky.

The turn off for me is proprietary parts. specifically, the bolt. Now I was told you can use a standard AR bolt in an emergency but for longevity and working right use their bolt. Something about a spring in it or something? I like universal parts I can share across platforms, especially a part like the bolt.

Naturally, it may be used by evil men for evil purposes, but there are more good men than evil, and while the latter cannot be persuaded to the path of righteousness by propaganda, they can certainly be corrected by good men with rifles. --Jeff Cooper"

I like pws, I’ve had 3 or 4 rifles, still have one in X39. Their quality control went down for a little while, but I think they are back up again. Also the new lowers have an ambi bolt catch not just a bolt release. They can’t have a brass over bolt malfunction cause of the long stroke piston rod. The only drawback is they are heavy uppers compared to di uppers. I don’t think you’ll be disappointed if you get one, but if you’re looking for something lighter I wouldn’t recommend it.
