Default Barrel profile for 14.5 inch barreland suppressor

I currently have a 16inch AR with a pencil barrel and know that putting a suppressor on something like that is going to impact POA/POI.

Going to build an AR with suppressor use in mind. 14.5 inch with a Surefire Warcomp (looking at a Surefire SOCOM RC2) pinned to get to a 16inch barrel length.

Next decision is what profile barrel to get to reduce the amount of impact putting a suppressor on the end will have?

I would say in general the heavier profiles tend to have less. But the shift should be repeatable - if it?s 3? lower at 100 yards, it should be that way when you put it back on the gun.

The only 223 barrel I have that seems to have minimal shift at 100 yards is my 20? heavy profile.

My gunner profile (govt/pencil combo) 18? has very repeatable shift. Can remove/put on and dial the difference. It would be the thinnest profile I have.

Try your current barrel before you get a new one unless you have other reasons why you are going with a new one.
