I guess the space center attracts them; I remember something about George about the same length at the Cape.

I had read they figured it had something to do with the low frequency sounds and vibrations that were generated by the operations there.

I was listening to the Big Game Hunting podcast a couple days ago. The guy on it is an African professional hunter and was talking about crocodiles.

Big, nasty creatures. He has some eye opening anecdotes about their size and speed. He also talks about their nervous system and how, even decapitated, they will get up and walk away.

I was talking to my nephew in Tampa about it, then sent him the article above. He says that is why he avoids all bodies of water down there, except the ocean.

    Default Canaveral National Seashore Park

No hunting at the KSC/CCSFS area. I get a serene peaceful feeling when I go there, as it is very quiet until launch time. If you want to see some wildlife, including wild hogs go to Canaveral National seashore. It is probably my favorite place in the whole world. There are no concessions, so you have pack everything in and out. Sometimes, it seems I am the only human on scene. Special permit to camp overnight on the beach is needed. It is worth the pilgrimage. (disclaimer: there are sharks, alligators, snakes etc.)

Default The swamp is noisy at night

You just have to have a sharp knife. My preference is the SEAL pup. OK, I admit I have never spent the night there. I have seen alligators at night with a spotlight. Hundreds of eyes looking at you from the water. And they are noisy, so how could you ever sleep? (The stuff they don't tell you)

Actual picture of the knife I wear when in the swamp.
