Thanks. That?s kind of the product I had envisioned in my head. You see plenty of small leather slips but usually you still just toss them into the pocket. Having the clip on the little sheath so that I can carry my trapper in a similar manner to my normal EDC is really where I was trying to head but couldn?t find a product like that.

If your Trapper doesn't have a clip, that's the problem. I am not familiar with the trapper. I understand the Trapper may be the important item here. But all my carry knives over the last 10 or more years had a clip, so I didn't need a sheath, (although at work I had one, because the knife/clip wore out the corner of pocket in my jeans). I made a nice sheath where the knife clip clipped onto the sheath, instead of my pocket. But most of the time, I just clipped he knife to the pocket.

Okay, just check out the Trapper. Seems Buck, and Case, and who knows who else has a "Trapper" knife. Doesn't seem to have a lock blade. That's a deal breaker for me. You're on your own. I had one blade fold over into my thumb about 40 or more years ago, Never Again.

I also had a blade close on me probably about forty years ago. Cut me down to the bone and I also swore off of ever using a knife without a lock.

Now, with that being said, those forty years since the incident have bestowed a lot of wisdom and common sense on me. I feel I am in a much better place to use such a tool in a wiser (and safer) manner.

I didn?t reread my original post but carrying the trapper is just something I want to do occasionally and not on a daily basis as my only knife. I just don?t like things floating around in my pocket.

Kind of like guys that want to carry revolvers. Are there better options out there? Sure. Does it have its drawbacks? Definitely. Does the fact that there are better carry options out there mean nobody should carry a revolver? Nope.

My dad always carried a Buck 3 blade trapper. My first pocket knife at 5 was one of his old ones that he broke the tip off of. I carried none clip knives all through school and found the best way was right back pocket on the right side of my wallet. That also hides the outline of the blade for those teachers that got twitchy.
