    Default Olympic Fever

    Anyone have it?

I remember as a kid the Olympics seemed to be a much bigger day than they are now. Granted, there are a lot more entertainment options now. Looking at the ratings, it doesn't appear many people care to tune in.

Some pundits are claiming it is because China tried to kill the world with bat fever and communism and all that.

I think it's because the winter games kinda suck. Not a lot of head to head competition. Hockey and curling is about it.

Watching skiers take turns flying down a hill is interesting for a run or two but gets old quickly. The coverage usually stinks as well. Way too many personal interest stories about the obstacles overcame and I am sure endless commercials.

    Sorry NBC, maybe next time.

I still enjoy the Olympics, and find it more interesting than most things on TV.

I’ve tried watching it a couple times but it’s not been any good… this is the worst coverage I’ve ever seen in memory. Nobody cares to watch people in the crowd at the bottom of the slope, talking to each other or in their radios.

That's what did it for me with most televised sports. Seems like it started around 20 years ago. Evidently it was a trend. I read that the increase in personal interest stories was a strategy to increase female viewers.

I enjoy athletic competition. I don?t tune in for a soap opera.

    The coverage suuuucks.

Add to that the IOC is as corrupt as the UN and I really just don?t care as much as I used to.

    What's not to like?

Athletes are winning tickets to quarantine camps.

Americans are giving up their citizenship to compete with Chinese colors.

Plus, the setting is so magical this year.

    No interest whatsoever.
I am not smart enough to edit the "title"

I enjoy it. I went to Calgary in 1988 and Salt Lake in 2002. NBC sucks I watch an Olympics channel that I have on Hulu.

Red Gerard, from Silverthorne, unexpectedly won gold at the Slopestyle Snowboard event in 2018 at age 17. Unfortunately, he got 4th on Sunday night, but this was his tweet before the event...

Couldn’t be more proud to rep the Stars and Stripes.

I just don't see the same words coming from LeBron.

I've been diligently watching the Mixed Doubles curling. Granted, I've been curling for near a decade Haven't watched anything else.

Forgot to mention - I paid my $5 to Peacock and have been watching there. I've been pleased with their replays.
