Around 91 or so, a couple neighbors and I went hunting up around Weston Pass one October. One of them had a cabin up near there. We were out driving the road up to the pass to get to an area we wanted to hunt, and we came across a Toyota pickup nosed into a ditch. The couple that had been in it were standing on the road, admiring the scenery and smooching like they didn't have a worry in the world.
We stopped, offered to help pull them out (which we did) as they were the only other vehicle we'd seen that morning and were fairly sure there might not be another soon, and were standing there talking to them when the gal suddenly stopped talking. Her eyes got about as big around as dinner plates, and she grabbed her husband's arm and started mouthing gibberish that sounded a lot like "They've got guns! Ohmygod, they've got guns!" over and over. We were each wearing a revolver in a holster on our belts, right out in the open, and they hadn't noticed them until then. Then Slick got really excited, thanked us in the fastest manner he could, they jumped in the truck and tore out of there. The other two with me looked at each other and then at me and asked what the heck happened. I told them what I'd heard, and we all had a good laugh.
That just illustrated to me how stupid folks that think like that are. I mean, seriously, if we'd wanted to do anything, we certainly wouldn't have pulled their truck out first! If someone had been going to do something to them they'd have popped Slick first and then done what they wanted to with Mrs. Slick. There was enough snow up there, and few enough people around that time of year, nobody would have known anything until Spring. And until she saw our sidearms, neither one of them had a problem. Idiots. More proof of my theory that OSHA has allowed too many of the stupid ones to live long enough to breed.

We take the ATV'S up alot in the summer over Georgia Pass, Hall Valley etc.
we always have had our open carry pistols on our sides and never had a negative response from any of the goofy flat landers, out of state'ers, and just in general peeps. We have even driven into Breck from Tiger Run and no one seemed to notice.

Silly bitch probably spent hours on her therapist's couch to recover from her trauma...

First thing I’m going to do when the market picks up (assuming the ‘great one and co.’ hasn’t f’d things up completely) is buy a property with land.

Shooting on your property = bliss!

Until then I’ll have to make do with annoying my hippie neighbor by sitting on my porch and cleaning my rifle[/font]J Yeah I know childish!
