    Default Colorado?s HB22-1145

Colorado?s HB22-1145, Possess Large Ammunition Magazines for Competitions, from Rep. Perry Will is scheduled to be heard on Monday, February 28, 2022 in the House State, Civic, Military, & Veterans Affairs Committee. As of now the hearing will be held in LSB-A (Legislative Services Building, located south of the Capitol across 14th Ave, 200 E 14th Ave, Denver, CO 80203). The committee is scheduled to begin at 1:30 pm and HB-1145 is the 3rd of 3 bills scheduled for that day.

    • The bill would create a narrow exemption to allow for a person competing in a shooting competition, which is sanctioned or coordinated by a state agency the ability to possess a magazine over the 15 round limit that was imposed by Colorado?s 2013 magazine ban.

    • Lifting the ban for sporting competitions will help attract more competitions to Colorado and help drive economic development in rural Colorado.

    • Colorado Parks and Wildlife?s Cameo Shooting and Education Complex in Palisade, CO is a world class shooting facility and this narrow exemption would help Cameo attract and grow top competitions and competitors. Confusion over what magazines are exempted and allowed under the current law results in competitors staying away from Colorado.

I just got this. Good for Cameo, bad for Colorado. Creates a competitive advantage for the .gov and harms the private ranges. Bad precedent to set IMHO.

I guess they should have thought of that before they passed the restrictions.

Sanctioned or coordinated by a state agency? They can go screw themselves.

If seconds count to competitors, then why would seconds count in the case of self defense in a life or death situation? Maybe these competitive shooters should just get better at mag changes like the rest of us peasants.

Full capacity magazines cause crime and an increase in mass shootings. Why would anyone want more crime and mass shootings at competitions?

It's just "common sense" gun control.

Pending local restrictions, there is no ban on possession of pre-July 2013 mags.
The vagrants of Boulder welcome you...

Correct, but when the competitors come from out of state...there you go.

But...Colorado already has an exemption for that. They are allowed to be in possession of whatever is legal in their home state. This was put in for fear of losing the out of state Hunter funds.

All I have to offer is:

Will go nowhere. This state's blue doesn't give a shit about this.
Same on the fed level, where you can no longer legally make your own suppressor.

I will edit to add, that I realize this is a "family" site, and my 4 letter words have become more common. My bad. This is the current state of the world I live in

    My Feedback
Credit TFOGGER : Liberals only want things to be "fair and just" if it benefits them.
Credit Zundfolge: The left only supports two "rights"; Buggery and Infanticide.
Credit roberth: List of things Government does best; 1. Steal your money 2. Steal your time 3. Waste the money they stole from you. 4. Waste your time making you ask permission for things you have a natural right to own. "Anyone that thinks the communists won't turn off your power for being on COAR15 is a fucking moron."
