Does anyone have any cool/fun/silly/interesting Christmas traditions? Let's hear about them!
Just starting one with the family.... a stuff free Christmas!

Where the boys get nothing but this they will use... no toys. Camping stuff, like mess kits, compass.... football camp.... Not stopping other family members from getting them stuff, but letting them know why, and making gift suggestions. Next year maybe money in their names to charities and volunteering... tired of all the plastic stuff that sees little to no use...
Needless to say they may be in for a little shock in the morning...

Not a bad idea... Right now, as I type this one of my twin three year olds is throwing the mother of all tantrums. I know they're too young to understand, but this has been a hard year financially. We made sure the kids at least had some gifts, and all they want to do is throw and ever-loving tantrum.

Next year, I'll take the family to Christmas Mass and then we'll go to a homeless shelter and volunteer our time to help people who really have it bad. It's time for an attitude correction before they're too old to be corrected. Peace be with you and God bless.

This sounds like a really good idea. Good luck and God bless you and your family on Christmas.

My mom's birthday is Christmas Eve. So every year (for the past 10 years or so) we go over to her house and eat crab legs. Also, every we get those crackers that have a cheap little toy and a thin paper hat inside. Everyone puts on their hats, shows what cheesy toy they got (that usually immediately goes into the trash) and goes around the table reading the joke/riddle that came inside the cracker. Fun times and those crackers are cheap. So we spend the night, then go to the wife's family's house for Christmas day.

    Merry Christmas everyone.

Real quiet Christmas here. Wife worked night shift last night and is working tonight, too. I fondled guns and split/stacked firewood all day. Kid's in Iraq for Christmas...again (5th year in a row he's been in Iraq or Afghanistan for Christmas). All other family lives outta state.

Got a nice fire going tonight...looks like a Terrier bomb went off. Little dog carcasses all over the floor in front of the woodstove. They do like to stay warm.

Gonna have a shot of Buffalo Trace bourbon and watch the latest Rambo movie. An exceedingly high body count always puts me in a holiday mood!
