Today at wholesale in CO regular was $3.40 and diesel was $3.90 per gallon. Most stations try to get $.50/gallon markup.

"The gross margin (or markup) on gasoline in 2021 was 30.9 cents per gallon, or 10.2% of the average price of $3.03 for the year. Over the past five years, retailer gross margins have averaged 27.2 cents per gallon, or 10.7% of the overall price."

They profit between 2 and 3 cents per gallon.

Per this the gross margin rate seems to stay around 10%.

So if wholesale diesel is $3.90 today, retail is going to be around $4.33. Ouch.

I fueled up truck and car 2-24.

Used $0.40 off King Soopers and paid $3.199 after discount for 20 gal of diesel to top off my 50 gal tank.
$0.40 off 12 gals of premium in my car, didn't put that one in the app but I think it was $3.499/gal after discount ?

July 2020 I paid after discount, $1.069 for diesel.

I am willing to pay more for gasoline if it meant choking off Russia from selling on the world market.

If only someone would have foreseen the danger of relying on foreign oil and put more effort in domestic oil production a few years ago......

Went to the Maverik station at 287 & 66 to stock up on non ethanol fuel but those pumps were off, so drove on to gas the truck in Lyons where the station was out of fuel. Aargh. I think we'll see more of this as the govt gradually chokes off supply to force consumers into ev's and dependence on an increasingly vulnerable electric grid.

If Biden and his merry band of assholes would start punching holes and drilling again on U.S soil, they could really better their chances for the midterms. Naw, keep buying foreign oil.
