No ads if you turn off the optional settings (on by default), at least in Safari. Both are still free. They sometimes mess up a page so I keep Chrome w/o any ad blockers for those rare occasions.

    Me too!
I did try Brave and watched some favorite wood working YouTube videos that have a lot of ads.
They are much better without the ads.
Thanks for this thread and the information.

I use BOTH AdBlock Plus and uBlock on my Chrome. There are some that they don't get automatically, mainly those ones that overlay on the entire screen, but there are ways to add even those types of things to the blocked list (I just am too lazy to learn the proper coding methods these things use).

If you use Ublock, be aware you will likely have to disable it on many commerce sites, banking, etc. A lot of the payment buttons, scripts don't work with it enabled for the site.

I had to use icognito instead to get through a few data aggregator site's pages opt-out processes as I didn't want to enable it for their page.
    My Feedback
Credit TFOGGER : Liberals only want things to be "fair and just" if it benefits them.
Credit Zundfolge: The left only supports two "rights"; Buggery and Infanticide.
Credit roberth: List of things Government does best; 1. Steal your money 2. Steal your time 3. Waste the money they stole from you. 4. Waste your time making you ask permission for things you have a natural right to own. "Anyone that thinks the communists won't turn off your power for being on COAR15 is a fucking moron."

Another good thought on this topic - go into private mode - that way cookies are not shared and for most browsers are auto deleted when done.

Private/Incognito does nothing. Disabling Ublock for a specific site is simple (1-click).

Privacy & Security is a marathon, not a sprint. It's also a moving target. What we use today, might not be what we use next year.
