On a related note, the DOW is having a meeting this week.
Among other items on the agenda, is "updating the common name" of ptychocheilus lucius, otherwise known as the squawfish.
Not sure why they are meeting.
Looks like Pikeminnow or White Salmon has already been adopted
The Northern Pikeminnow is a large member of the minnow family native to the Pacific slope of Western North America.
Formerly known as "Northern Squawfish", the name was changed to Northern Pikeminnow by the American Fisheries Society in 1998.
Because of the offensive connotation attributed to the word “squaw,” these animals are also referred to as pikeminnows.
Squawfishes are long, large-mouthed, pikelike fishes.
Voracious carnivores, they make lively sport fishes.
The largest species, the Colorado River squawfish, or white salmon (P. lucius), may grow to about 1.5 metres (5 feet) with a reported weight of about 36 kilograms (79 pounds); because of changes in its habitat, this species has declined significantly and is considered endangered.
YOU are the first responder. Police, fire and medical are SECOND responders.

It passed 15-1 on Friday.
But, you can not satisfy everyone
The Northern Cheyenne Tribe in Montana opposed the change, saying the name “Mount Blue Sky” could be considered sacrilegious because a Northern Cheyenne ceremony uses the “blue sky” words and concept.
I will be extra sure to emphasize my use of "Mount Evans" in any discussion of that location moving forward. I still use "Mount McKinley", so it's not really a change of pace for me.
The vagrants of Boulder welcome you...
