I'd like to hear about that rifle he absolutely did not want. I imagine he's been shooting with you many times before.

I began shooting at age five with my Grandpa's Remington .22, which I still have. But, I didn't get my own .22 rifle until my 12th birthday. It was a complete surprise. Three years later I bought my own with money from mowing lawns.
