It definitely impacted my phone yesterday afternoon. I tried the airplane mode thing and restarting several times to no benefit. Only when I suddenly received about five texts did I know it was working again.
The vagrants of Boulder welcome you...

Did they try unplugging it and plugging it back in?

And pay-by-the-minute bag phones. Those were great. The weight of a rifle and the battery lasted 15 minutes or so while talking.
Not to derail this, but the technological leap from the bag phone to a device that fits in your pocket that allows you to film a TV show and has access to all of man's knowledge (and makes calls) in less than 30 years is amazing.

I don't miss those pagers at all. We are paged out through mass text message on our phones. Second call can be a phone call if there is an issue with messaging, either cell or home phones. I don't take my radio home, but a lot of the guys do.

Wife and I both have Verizon phones, had no issues in Parker. Wife mentioned hearing a rumor from a friend about an outage though.

I work in telecom and have dealt with lots of outages, LOTS of them. All kinds of things happen to underground and aerial cables, the numbers are staggering. Some crazy shit. This was likely an equipment issue.
There's a lot more of us ugly mf'ers out here than there are of you pretty people!
