    Yep. I was in Los Angeles and tried making calls on my Verizon phone - no luck. A coworker with a Verizon phone had the same issue. Luckily we had access to land lines so we were able to make essential work related calls.

    Verizon was down from the west coast , up thru the rocky mountains and other points in the SW 2 days ago. With rolling / sporadic connectivity, due to something going down in SoCal. We were w/out service for 6 hrs. No calls, but text worked. Along with this item.

    If that's the case, could have been a fiber cable cut somewhere, pretty common. IIRC, Verizon doesn't own their own cables, they lease fibers from other carriers in ther cables. So when a cut happens, they're dependent on the "landlord" getting the cable fixed asap. And the landlords don't always have their own construction, repair and splicing crews in the area, so contractors have to be rolled out. It can be an easy fix, or it can be a nightmare.
