    Default wwb 5.56 - CLOSED

our local bass pro have 5.56 ammo for 10.99 for 20rd, and they also have the 223 for like $10. So what should i pick up to shoot with. I own a M&P15 and it shoot both rounds. Thanks

Default How is the barrel marked?

I'd suggest getting what is marked on the barrel....is it .223 or 5.56? It can make a difference in some situations. I ran some hot 5.56 in a .223 barrel and was blowing primers out, which equals lots of problems, some dangerous.

I am guessing your gun is marked 5.56...should be on the barrel or as long as it was a complete gun and not a build, then the lower receiver will say. (what counts is what is in the chamber).

5.56 would be the best to get as long as it is marked as such. if not, .223 will be just fine.

if your gun is marked .223, DO NOT shoot the 5.56 out of it.
All I have in this world is my balls and my word and I don't break em for no one.

The S&W M&P15T can shoot both rounds and on the barrel say 5.56, do you feel a difference in both ammo, recoil wise?
