This is the sort of crap that torques me off from both extremes with this debate.
Only took them 12 hours to report on this.

I did a 3 hour shift at the Greeley Pregnancy Resource Center Friday night, we were relieved by an off duty GPD officer who worked the midwatch. No issues here.

I was wondering about the center in Longmont, figured it would be a more likely target, we got paged Saturday morning about the incident.

"Sen. Julie Gonzales, D-Denver, and Rep. Meg Froelich, D-Greenwood Village, said they intend to file legislation to protect Colorado abortion care providers and anyone who seeks abortion care in the state."

I think their vision is abortion clinics at the Colorado welcome centers at the state lines, kind of like all the fireworks stands just across the Wyoming border.

Is there such a thing as "abortion tourism"?

Shows how idiodic leftists are, considering CO allows for abortions at any time, even if you're in the middle of dilating.

When this decision first came out there was talk in some pro-choice circles about how this would "galvanize the progressives" into turning out in the mid-terms.

I don't see it happening though. Increasing turn-out in states that are already solid Democrat isn't going to change the electoral map at all. And in states that are solid Republican, increasing the Democratic turn out isn't likely to have much of an effect on the elections.

Besides, Democrat voters are notorious no-shows in "off year" elections where there's no presidential candidate to vote for. So despite this I still predict the Dems will get a walloping at the polls in November, probably enough to turn over the House (not sure about the senate, depends on which states are having elections this cycle.)

The progressives seem to be galvanized 24/7/365.25 about all sorts of crazy stuff so do they even have any bandwidth left?

But you are correct, the constituency that expects to need an abortion is pretty small and this won't be nearly as big a motivator as concerns about the economy. But long term I would expect to see this play out in Republican primaries since there are plenty of R's that feel it should be legal in the first trimester or for certain exceptions. The republican party of today is much more nationalistic and blue-collar, and less moral-majority, than it was even 10 years ago so I don't think many red states will have outright bans.

That's funny. It made me think of some folks who have all but replaced the landscaping in their yards with virtue signal placards.

That's an interesting choice of words. Well put. If somebody expects to need an abortion they have much deeper issues than what can be fixed by legislation. In fact, that may be an encapsulation of the progressive movement in this day and age. As far as the size of the actual "constituency" who militantly support abortion, I think the majority are approaching or have reached the end of child bearing age. I think those who commit acts of violence and arson against pregnancy centers are probably those same instigators who commit those acts in riots and other civil unrest events.
