What a wonderful way to make the entire county a free fire zone for criminals!

    So brave Boulder Co.

    Dave Kopel's take on it.

"...the commissioners do not appear to have read or obeyed the Bruen opinion."

"There is no public safety benefit to prohibiting an early morning jogger from protecting herself against a mountain lion or a human predator."

"The Boulder Commissioners take away the choices of the grocery stores that do not want their customers to be sitting ducks for mass shooters."

"The new Boulder law is regressive for public safety. It based on animus against exceptionally law-abiding Coloradans."

Judge just blocked the ban from going into effect (except for reset triggers and bumpstocks).

Are the carry limits also being challenged? Seem to me to be just as important (or more so) than the AW/mag restrictions.

    Anyway, more positive developments.

Lyons is jumping on board now.. One council member brought up that maybe it "wasn't right and maybe they should put it on the ballot" but after a couple other members told him that the people shouldn't have a choice he voted for it anyway.

It's pretty clear the local governments are just the next step for HOA Karens. People who value the personal liberty of citizens don't tend to have the lust for power shown in the past year.

Lyons used to have a muzzleloading shop in the downtown core and I bet the hardware store used to have an ammo cabinet.

It's still interesting to watch the circling of the progressive gun safety wagons.
