I'll go out on a limb and guess that when the dad ran for mayor as a democrat in that town, he had a very anti gun stance on that issue.

All I see is "high powered rifle" and similar to an AR-15.

When I think of a high power rifle, first thing that pops into my head is .375 H&H. I doubt this clown would buy something that brutal.
